Waste service staff to strike

Waste service workers and street cleansers are on strike between 18 September and 1 October. This will have a direct impact on our blocks and estates.

Tower Hamlets Homes will be diverting resources and using our mobile teams to help clear overspill and rubbish from around the bin areas to help manage this, although we are unable to empty the bins themselves.

Caretaking duties will be amended to focus on carrying out health and safety cleaning tasks as well as keeping the bin and chute areas tidy.

Please help us to keep your block and estate as clean as possible:

• Do not dump large items of rubbish on the estate
• Please do not use refuse chutes during this period and bring your rubbish to the bin room area.
• Please double bag your rubbish if possible

Our teams will do our best to keep the estates as tidy as possible during this time and please be supportive of them.
