The purpose of the housing management service is to provide a range of quality housing services. This can only be achieved by effective and appropriate use of the personal data we collect.

Data Protection legislation now provides rights for everyone whose personal information is being held and/or used by an organisation. Data Protection legislation requires a balance between protecting individual's rights to privacy and the legitimate needs of business and other organisations to use personal information.

We are a data controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. The Privacy Policy explains how we comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act.

Data Protection

Any personal data we collect and use is treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We and any third party service provider contracted by us to provide a service to you will only collect and use personal data for the purpose(s) pertinent to its collection and use, and this will be stated upon collection.

We will endeavour to ensure your personal data will be processed in accordance with the Principles and Rights of the Data Protection Act 1998 and any disclosure(s) made will be in accordance with our Notification registered with the Information Commissioner, which can be viewed at the Information Commissioner's Office website.

Information provided by you via our on-line transactional services will only be used for the purpose(s) stated on that particular form. Any personal information collected in emails will only be used for the purpose(s), which we reasonably believe it was provided for. We do not use your data for direct marketing by third parties without your permission.

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018, you are entitled to request a copy of the information we hold about you. If you become aware that the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, you may request that we amend it. Any requests should be made in writing to us. We may charge a fee for complying with this request.

Freedom of Information 2000

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives any one the right of access to information held by us. We will be under a legal obligation to disclose such information if requested unless it considers that an exemption applies. We may charge a fee for complying with this request.

It will only be disclosed to those persons indicated in accordance with the principles contained in the Data Protection Act 2018 and our Data Protection Registration (Registration Number Z1261726).

Any council service may use this information even if they did not originally collect it and information that was collected for one purpose may be used for another purpose unless legal restrictions prevent us from sharing such information.

Using your information in this way allows us to deliver more efficient services that can be tailored to your individual needs and preferences.

We are required under Section 6 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 to participate in the National Fraud Initiative data matching exercise. The data held by us will be used for cross-system and cross authority comparison for the prevention and detection of fraud.


By default Cookies are used by our server for your browsing session to assist with the technical information we require for day-to-day running of the web server, these are session Cookies and they do not track your browsing activity on third party sites.
