Summary
The cost of living support packages have been continued into 2023 and 2024.
For more information, go to the Cost Of Living Payment page on Gov.UK.
Please be aware that you will never be asked for personal information such as bank details to receive these payments.
Low Income Payment
£900 available for those with qualifying benefits or qualifying tax credits
The full list of qualifying tax benefits can be found on the government's website.
The money will be paid directly into your bank accounts in three lump sums.
The first payment will be received in Spring 2023. It will be followed by a payment in Autumn 2023 and Spring 2024.
This payment will be tax-free, will not count towards the benefit cap, and will not have any impact on existing payments.
Disability Cost of Living Payment
£150 for people with a disability
To be eligible you must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit:
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
- Attendance Allowance
- Scottish Disability Benefits
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- War Pension Mobility Supplement
This will be made as a single payment in Summer 2023, credited to your bank account by the DWP.
For the many disability benefit recipients who receive means tested benefits, this £150 will come on top of the £900 they will receive separately.
Pensioner Cost of Living Payment
£300 for Pensioners
If you are entitled to a Winter Fuel Payment, you will get this extra £300 paid with your normal payment from Winter 2023/2024.
You will get this Pensioner Cost of Living Payment as well as any Cost of Living Payment you may receive with your qualifying benefit or tax credits.
The full amount of Winter Fuel Payment you will get for winter 2022 to 2023 will depend on your circumstances. Find out how this is calculated on the government website.
