Extra £4 million on improvements
An extra £4 million - on top of the £6 million
announced in March - has been allocated to Tower Hamlets Homes by
the council for improvements. A number of estate improvement works
are already under way including clearing overgrown areas,
organising parking, re-routing traffic, resurfacing, improving
playgrounds, cleaning brickwork and painting. Read story>
Residents needed to 'help shape' borough's services
Tower Hamlets Partnership wants to recruit more than 100
residents to join the revitalised Local Area Partnership (LAP)
steering groups.
The groups are set to help ensure public services are delivered
more effectively.
Residents selected for the groups will be responsible for
implementing changes and ensuring targets are set and achieved to
improve their area.
