Equality information
The Equality Act 2010 requires us to meet certain statutory duties. The purpose of the statutory duty is to assist public bodies to tackle persistent and long-standing issues of disadvantage.
In line with the Equality Act 2010, we work to:
- End unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act
- Advance equality of opportunity between people
- Foster good relations between people
The Equality Act covers the following nine protected characteristics:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender reassignment
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Race
- Religion or belief
- Sex
- Sexual orientation
- Marriage and civil partnership
