What you can expect Tower Hamlets Homes to look after

Tower Hamlets Homes carries out repairs to properties and
estates managed on behalf of Tower Hamlets council.
Certain repairs in your home must be done by
law. These include repairing the structure of your home and
any gas, electricity, plumbing or heating installations. These
repairs are included in your rent unless you are a homeowner when
you pay as part of your charges.
What repairs to expect (residents with
tenancies)
- repair and replacement of external doors and fixing your font
door's faulty lock
- unsafe power or lighting sockets or electrical fittings
- problems with your water supply, heating or lighting
- toilets that won't flush
- leaks from water or heating pipes, tanks or cisterns
- making your home safe after vandalism, racial attack or
domestic violence
- major internal plastering (but not filling holes or small
cracks)

As well as looking after your home, we also look after repairs
in your block and on your estate.

(homeowners and residents with tenancies)
- lighting and painting of
internal and external parts to your block
- main water tanks, drains,
gutters and rain water pipes.
- gas, electricity and water
mains, pipes, drains, waste water and sewage ducts commonly shared
by other homes in the block.

- lifts to your block
- store sheds, laundry areas,
garages or other external buildings
- communal TV aerials (but not
aerial sockets for home owners)
- communal heating systems
