Work for us

We are based in one of the most dynamic areas
of London, an Olympic borough with ambitious plans for new housing
supply, intense regeneration and with an extremely diverse
population.
This is an exciting time for our organisation
and we need staff who are committed to improving the quality of
life of our residents and to delivering the housing service and
decent homes they deserve.
Tower Hamlets Homes (THH) is responsible for
all aspects of tenant and leasehold management, including income
collection, repairs and investment and lettings. THH is responsible
for managing almost 22,000 homes (13,000 tenanted, 9,000
leasehold).
We have recently restructured the majority of
our services, as well as revising access arrangements and
developing our service standards in order to improve the quality
and consistency of service delivery. We have an ambitious service
improvement plan in place.
Residents are at the heart of what we do and
we're working with them through three groups considering service
improvement, repairs and investment and resident involvement. This
is supported by our Getting Involved Register of over 800
residents, who provide us with views and comments on the housing
services they're interested in.
The residents of Tower Hamlets are ethnically
diverse with almost half from minority ethnic communities and the
population is projected to grow. There is also a projected growth
in the elderly population. There are also many residents who
require specialist support to remain independant in their own
homes.
THH seeks to deliver services that are
responsive to community needs and to ensure that opportunities for
resident engagement reflect the needs and aspirations of the
Borough’s communities.
Our Strategic Priorities
Our key strategic priorities for the first year in the
life of THH are:
- Improving Housing Management Performance
- Improving resident focus
- Undertake detailed planning for the delivery
of a decent homes programme
Our priorities are aimed
at:
- Achieving continuous improvement in the way
we work
- Delivering excellent services
- Bringing all homes to the Decent Homes
Standard
- Extending resident involvement and
engagement.
Our values
Our residents are at the heart of
everything we do and this is reflected in our values. These set out
the type of service we want to provide both as individuals and as a
new organisation:
Quality - We will
continuously improve customer services and deliver value for
money.
Reliability - We deliver what
we promise and keep residents informed of progress.
Collaboration - We will work
in partnership, asking for and providing support and sharing
success.
Flexibility - We will operate
in a responsive way that reflects our residents’ needs and
aspirations.
Involvement - We will engage
residents and staff in all aspects of our services, consult widely
and encourage feedback.
Diversity - We will value
everyone’s contribution, provide equal access to involvement and
services and tackle any form of unfair discrimination.
Staffing
THH has more than 500 staff, in four key divisions each
reporting to our Chief Executive.

Our Asset Management division is central to delivering decent
homes and is responsible for securing the resources to not only
deliver decent homes but to develop initiatives to improve our

management of homes and lettings, as well as health and safety.

our organisation and contains our key front-line services including
local housing services, caretaking, rents, resident involvement,
leasehold services and anti-social behaviour.
Finance and Resources

aspects of the financial management of THH. This includes budget
setting and management, value for money and risk management,
leaseholder service charges, business planning and accounts.
