Special Interest Groups

Homes is committed to our services being accessible, inclusive and
fair to all. Taking part in a service improvement group means you have the
opportunity to directly influence how we plan and develop our
services. Residents who take part in these groups have access
to training as well as an opportunity to get involved, this is also
a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and gain
valuable experience. Each of the service groups is made up of
residents from across the borough, senior staff from the relevant
service and staff from the resident engagement team.
We have found that residents from Black, Asian
and other minority ethnic backgrounds (BME) and younger people are
much less likely to get involved in service improvement groups and
local tenants and residents groups. They are also sometimes less likely
to use our services. To try and overcome the barriers some
people face to getting involved and using our
services we are running special interest groups to
address this.
