Residents' Working Groups

As part of our engagement strategy we offer
opportunities for residents to meet with officers on a regular
basis to assist with the monitoring of services and help us to
achieve service improvement.
Residents
who are willing and able to commit to regular meetings or
activities can get a better understanding of how we do
things, and also look at how other organisations have made
improvements.
Coupled
with their first hand experience of services this enables residents
to have a really informed and valuable input.

Currently we have three working groups meeting
regularly with officers to look at three distinct areas of
service.These are:
-repairs and investment working group
-service improvement working group
-resident involvement working group
Each of these groups is
made up of tenants and leaseholders and is lead by the manager of
the relevant service.
Repairs and investment working group
The
repairs and investment group addresses both responsive repairs and
major works, with particular emphasis on the decent homes
programme.
Service improvement working
group
The service improvement group looks at a range
of key housing services. This group also has a sub-group
focussing on caretaking services.
Resident involvement working group
The
resident involvement group looks at the range of ways we engage
with residents including giving information, carrying out
consultations, supporting resident groups, setting up resident
panels and providing training.
Membership of the working groups currently involves attending an
evening meeting every month.
