Course content
This course will help you to develop the skills and knowledge about
money that are relevant to everyday life and situations. This
includes the legal and practical aspects of money, the ways to
organise money using detailed personal budgeting. You will
also learn about appropriate bank and building society accounts and
how to make sure you keep up with payment. How to avoid or deal
with debt.
This qualification can provide a route to further education or to a
career in the financial services sector or in business
generally.
Qualification structure
The Certificate consists of three units
Unit 1 Personal Financial Encounters: this unit
covers where money comes from and its uses; the laws to do with
money and the choices available to save and invest money
Unit 2 Money Management Solutions: learn how
the banking system works and how to make good choices about bank
accounts and good spending decisions
Unit 3 Personal Finance Management: use
calculations to make good decisions about debt management,
including personal financial protection and insurance, and
understand the finance industry
Assessment is by multiple-choice and associated questions.
The pass mark is 50%
