About the Panel
The Residents’ Panel was set up to
make sure there is effective and strategic resident scrutiny
of Tower Hamlets Homes services.
The Residents' Panel is made
up entirely of residents. They look closely at our
performance and make sure we are doing what we say we are.
The Panel works with other
resident groups and gets involved in other engagement activities
across the borough.
As well as looking at our
performance the Panel looks at why particular areas
are not working as well as they should.
The Panel makes recommendations to the
Board. They recommend what they think needs to improve
and monitor it to make sure it's done.

What the Panel does
The Panel’s role is to ensure that the
resident voice – in terms of needs, concerns and aspirations – is
listened to, heard and acted upon by THH.
The Panel will execute this role through the
following means:
- Reviewing and monitoring a range of
performance indicators relating to customer service (whether
service standards or other measures of tenant and leaseholder
satisfaction or local offers or a combination of some or all of
these elements);
- Challenging and further exploring at Panel
meetings the reasons for any areas of under-performance, and
identifying areas for improvement;
- Commissioning in-depth scrutiny of any area
of service by drawing on a range of resources, from staff expertise
and additional data to practical support from other elements of the
resident involvement framework to independent validation or support
to a combination of some or all of these elements; and
- Making recommendations based on consideration
of the evidence submitted by the scrutiny exercise.
The outcomes of the Panel’s work are focused
on improving consistency of the quality of service provision to
residents and ensuring that the resident experience is taken into
account in how services are designed and delivered.
