We will always work with you and take all reasonable steps to try to sort out tenancy or rent arrears problems. However, if all else fails, we will take legal action and ask the courts to take back the property.

We have a duty to collect all rent due, as this income is vital to fund other housing services.

Non-payment of rent is the most common reason for eviction. However, it is possible for tenants to be evicted for breaking the rules of their tenancy agreement.

Please note that there is no guarantee that the courts will not evict households with children.

It is therefore in your own interest to do everything you can to avoid eviction. You can get help and advice from your rent arrears team.
