How to pay your rent 

               

We offer you lots of ways to pay your rent, so you have a way convenient for you and which helps you pay your rent on time. You can pay:

  • By direct debit the safest, cheapest way to pay your rent
  • By standing order, direct from your bank account.
  • By rent payment card at any Post Office ® or PayPoint® outlet
  • By telephone using a debit card. The council’s automatic payment service is available 24 hours a day on 020 7364 3800
  • By online payment 
  • By post. Please send cheques/postal orders only (write your name, address, and rent payment number on the back of the cheque/postal order), made payable to London Borough of Tower Hamlets at: Cashiers Office, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, 62 Roman Road, London E2 0PG
  • In person, by cash or cheque at the Cashiers Office, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, 62 Roman Road, London E2 0PG
  • By cheque at your local one stop shop using the automated machines
  • Direct from your salary by arrangement with your payroll or personnel section
  • Direct from your salary or pension if you are a Tower Hamlets employee or pensioner by arrangement with your personnel section
  • By claiming housing benefit (links to Tower Hamlets council's website)
