Tenants are being asked to petition the Government to
make sure Arms Length Management Organisations
(ALMOs) who qualify receive all the Decent Homes programme funding
promised to them.
Decent Homes money
diverted
The National Federation of ALMOs (NFA), as part of their Decent
Homes campaign, has submitted a petition to the Number 10 Downing
Street website asking the Government to re-think their decision to
divert £150 million from the Decent Homes programme to build
new houses.
The decision means ALMO’s who had not gained
the required two star rating by 17th July 2009, which includes
Tower Hamlets Homes, will not be guaranteed the funding promised to
enable them to bring their properties up to a decent standard.
As a result, many tenants now feel badly let down. The NFA
are urging tenants and their family and friends to support the
campaign.
Support the
campaign and sign the petition
The petition is open until Monday 23 February
2010.
