Tower Hamlets Homes staff all got
together last Wednesday at our first ever Staff Conference, to look
at how we can significantly improve our services to
residents.
Chief Executive Gavin Cansfield said:
“Residents have told us that they are starting to see an
improvement in our services. However, we know that we haven’t got
everything right yet and we do have long way to go to deliver
excellent service.
“The Staff Conference was about ensuring every
staff member is on the same page about what we need to do to reach
a minimum two star rating in the 2010 Audit Commission Inspection.
More importantly it was about making sure everyone knows what ‘good
service’ looks like and giving them the tools to deliver it to
residents.”
For us to all come together did mean that we
were not running a full service for the day.
“We understand that some residents may have
missed out on having their enquiries dealt with that day. We did
everything we could to ensure residents had plenty of warning, and
that we had officers available for emergencies,” Gavin said.
Feedback from staff showed that everyone is
clear about what needs to be done and are motivated to improve
services for residents.
Accomodation Officer Michelle Dove said her
key learning was that everyone needs to get in there and just do
it. She said: “Everyone needs to pull together and work as a big
team, so we get things done.”
