Residents’ Training – a voice for your
community!
On Saturday 21st February 2009, 8
residents took part in a training session to learn how to set up a
Residents’ Association. The session was informal as well as
informative and gave residents a good overview of the importance of
Residents’ Associations as a community voice and how to set one
up.
Feedback from those taking part included:
“Very good presentation and informative
handouts”
“Good over all”
“I really enjoyed today, everyone was every
friendly”.
The session included group working to discuss
ideas on how a Resident Association could be a voice for the local
community, uplift the local environment, improve service delivery
and increase community cohesion. Residents learnt how they could
form a working group to start a residents association, the
importance of a Resident Association Constitution and electing a
Committee.
