Our second
resident event held at York Hall last Saturday (October 3) was a
chance for residents to influence the future of their home and
neighbourhood.
“We have been around for just over a year and
we are at an important stage and need residents input. We asked
residents for their views on what we had done so far and what they
think should concentrate our efforts on”, said Gavin Cansfield,
Tower Hamlets Homes Chief Executive.
Residents agreed that we are heading in the
right direction with our Decent programme, and renovations to
kitchens and/or bathrooms were a real priority - as was making sure
we continue to keep residents informed and involved.
Leaseholders said that they wanted their bills
to be upfront and clear – in particular how repairs are
invoiced.
We are now looking into ways to do this.
Mr Cansfield added, “We believe we have
started to make real progress in our neighbourhoods. We think they
look cleaner and greener, with estate inspection and repair days
happening on every estate. The event provided the perfect
opportunity for residents to tell us what we should focus on and
make a real difference to the future of their neighbourhood.”
