With increased financial pressures on every council and ALMO in the country, getting the right balance between improving services, and driving down costs, calls for a smarter and more creative approach.
So when residents and staff got together at a VfM workshop last week, they welcomed the chance to discuss ideas about getting the best out of the resources available.
“Inviting residents and staff to sit down and talk about VfM was really useful”, said Alison Sweeting, THH’s new VfM partner.
“Some really interesting ideas came out of the workshop. Every time we go to the shops we make decisions about items to buy and we make judgements about the right balance for us between quality, cost and satisfaction, depending on our budget. It’s great to see residents and staff use this thinking to influence VfM decisions in their neighbourhood and service delivery”.
