Residents flock to Repairs Day on
Chicksand



Chicksand, the second of the Tower Hamlets
Homes’ Repair Days, saw a number of residents queue to get their
repairs fixed.
Repair Days are a chance for every resident to
speak directly to their contractor about their repair needs. One
resident who queued in the morning for two repairs, said: “The
repair day is good, very, very good. It’s so easy to get your
repairs sorted out.”
Several residents were delighted to find free
spy holes and door chains handed out on the day. Vulnerable
residents who preferred a female rather than male operative to fit
the free door furniture weren’t disappointed either; two female
operatives were on hand to help out.
Gary Kennett, Repairs Manager for Morrison,
one of the contractors who took part in the Repair Day said: “It
was a great day. As well as sorting out residents repairs, we
re-built estate walls, replaced broken locking posts, fixed
railings, repaired chute doors - you name it, we fixed it.”
Repair Days are part of our new 100 day repair improvement
plan.
