Bethnal Green Neighbourhood Housing
Officer, Reema Sohun, went the extra mile last week to help a
tenant re-house her pet pig, Mimi.
As you may have seen in the East London
Advertiser in recent weeks, a tenant has been sharing her flat with
her now famous pet from Portugal.
It was when neighbours started to complain
about the smell, noise and flies that Tower Hamlets Homes had to
step in and ask that Mimi be removed. An animal lover, Reema
felt sorry for Mimi and equally as sorry for the owner, who was
clearly besotted with her pet. Reema said: "I felt really bad
for Mimi. So I got on the phone to a couple of local farms."
Reema was able to convince Mudchute Farm in Isle of Dogs to
take care of Mimi. The farm isbuilding a hut specially for Mimi in
preparation for her move next week. The tenant also has full
visitation rights! Good work Reema!
