We are calling on our residents to nominate Tower Hamlets’ local heroes for the annual STAR in the Community Awards.

This is the second time this celebration of the community’s most dedicated residents has taken place and this year promises to be bigger and better than the last.

More housing organisations than ever before are asking residents to nominate their stars and a new environmental award has been introduced to recognise someone who has run a special green scheme in their neighbourhood. The winner of this category will join others who will be honoured when they receive prizes including the young person of the year and inspiration resident awards.

Nominations are now open, so if you really appreciate the work of someone in your community, please enter your star now. Deadline for entries is 5pm, 5th August 2011.
