On Saturday, over 50 Tower Hamlets Homes
residents had their say on how their homes were being managed at
the first of three Local Residents’ Conferences held at Oxford
House, Bethnal Green.
The event was led by residents who said that
they wanted to see smaller, local events, where residents were able
to interact with Tower Hamlets Homes staff, the Residents’ Panel
and the Board.
At the beginning and end of the day residents
were able to meet and talk with the Residents’ Panel, staff and
board members at information stalls. The main session for the
day included a presentation from the Residents’ Panel and from
Chief Executive, Gavin Cansfield followed by a question and answer
session, with residents sharing their views with the Residents
Panel, the Board and the Chief Executive.
The Residents’ Panel also conducted a survey
at the event – asking residents how our services are going and how
things have changed in the last year. The top three areas
residents at the event would like to see improved were:
- ASB 55% (16 out of 27 responses)
- Repairs 52% (15 out of 28 responses)
- Horticulture 41% (12 out of 28).
The next Tower Hamlets Homes Local Residents’
Conference is on Saturday 19 November at the Tarling Community
Centre, followed by the final event on Saturday 26 November at St
Matthias Community Centre.
