From April this year, there will be
major changes for people getting Housing Benefit who have an adult
- other than their partner - living with
them.
If you are already claiming Housing Benefit,
the changes are likely to affect the amount of money you get
towards your rent.
This means you will need to increase
your rent payments accordingly from April 2011. It is very
important you do this to avoid getting behind with your rent.
We will be writing to all tenants likely to be
affected by the changes with more information in the near future.
We will also publish a series of helpful questions and answers
about the changes in the next edition of Open Door, due out in
April/May.
It is important you read the letter carefully
and look out for the article.
