In full swing
A Tower Hamlets Homes scheme to bring environmental
improvements to local communities across the borough, is near
completion.
Four of the five play areas to benefit from
funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families,
through Play Pathfinder, opened to residents this month.
Over £200k has been spent on new play
equipment, landscaping and other environmental improvements
at:
- Wyllen Close, Cleveland Estate
- Pott Street, Horwood Estate
- Sage Street, Solander Gardens Estate
- Old Ford Road, Parkview Estate
- Harpley Square, Norfolk Estate
The schemes were
developed following consultation with local residents, including
young people, who said improving play areas was a priority and
would benefit local communities.
Two further environmental improvement schemes, one at Chicksand
Ghat, and another at Hanbury Street, in Bethnal Green, also
opened this month.
Both schemes were managed by the council, and funded through
s106 money from the Bishop Square development in the City.
