Illegal parking charges set to rise

15 September 2008

From Monday 15 September 2008, anyone caught parking illegally on estates managed by Tower Hamlets Homes, will now face a fine of £200.

This is a result of the council bringing estate parking release fees in-line with on street parking release fees.

Vehicles caught parking illegally on estates, will continue to be removed and impounded, and owners will have to pay £200 to have their vehicles released. Owners also face a charge of £25 a day for storage if vehicles are not collected within 24 hours.

It’s hoped that the move will also help stop illegal parking on estates so residents can park safely and easily and emergency vehicles have immediate access when they need to.
