Community Challenge Day is a great success thanks to team
work

Over 30 volunteers joined the Teesdale and
Hollybush T&RA last week, in the first of a number of Challenge
Days designed to improve the neighbourhood.
Volunteers, mainly from the FSA, as well as
Morrison and Tower Hamlets Homes donated their time and skills to
help tidy up two community gardens and a community centre on the
Teesdale Estate in Bethnal Green.
“More and more businesses are getting involved
in community-based projects, donating resources, and helping
community groups do work they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to
do.” said Tower Hamlets Homes Chief Executive, Gavin Cansfield.
“It’s fantastic that the T&RA have tapped
into to this and got something positive out of it for the whole
community.”
Keddlestone Walk Community Centre received a much deserved
lick of paint, while the more green-fingered members of the group
helped the T&RA tidy up the Rocky Park Community Food Garden
(pictured left).
The Chair of the Teesdale and Hollybush
T&RA, Margaret Cox couldn’t have been happier.
Margaret said, “Everyone involved with the day
had a great time. We had good team work, everyone learnt something
and we all had a good laugh. It was a brilliant atmosphere and a
very successful day”.
More Challenge Days will be coming up in July
and August. If you want to lend a hand, phone Margaret Cox on 07940
