Money help and advice
We
understand the problems of getting by on a limited budget, so we're
ready to help you sort things out.
If you are having money problems and are
struggling to pay your rent or service charges or other bills, we
can arrange for you to talk to a money adviser. They will give
you free, independent, specialist advice.
The adviser can help make sure you stay in
your home by:
- Checking you are receiving all of the welfare
benefits you are entitled to
- Seeing if any loans or credit cards can be
transferred to loans with lower interest rates
- Putting you in touch with Tower Hamlets
Credit Union
- Helping you reduce other outgoings
- Making sure that you are aware of where to go
for training or employment advice
- Agreeing a realistic payment plan between you
and Tower Hamlets Homes to prevent you losing your home
- Setting up a bank account to ensure your
bills are paid on time through direct debit or standing order
- Helping you
with Fuel Poverty (Gas, Water and Electricity arrears) by
contacting your Energy suppliers and making grant applications for
financial assistance
The adviser will be able to meet at a location
convenient for you. Contact us now for further information:
