What we do
Tower Hamlets Homes manages and looks after your home and estate
for Tower Hamlets council and we:
- let homes, arrange transfers and deal with empty properties
(voids)
- help new residents settle into their new home and local
area
- provide a home ownership and resales service
- collect your rent and take action if you are in arrears
- collect your service charges and take action if you are in
arrears
- improve homes to bring them up to the decent homes
standard
- carry out day-to-day repairs to your block and estate
- clean your block and estate and carry out estate inspections
with residents
- help tackle hate crime, domestic violence and anti-social
behaviour
- take housing management action and enforce the rules
- give you advice about your tenancy or lease
- let and manage estate parking spaces, garages and store sheds
- help you look after your tenancy and stay independent in your
own home with our housing eXtra services
- involve our residents in improving our services
through our Getting Involved Register
We also manage the Homeseekers service for Tower Hamlets council
and our common housing list partner landlords.
The council is responsible for housing policy in Tower
Hamlets, including:
- housing strategy for the borough
- monitoring Tower Hamlets Homes and other social landlords
- setting rents for Tower Hamlets Homes
- handling of Housing Benefit and rent rebates
- homelessness and housing advice
