Meet your Board
Tower Hamlets Homes is run by a board of 15
members - five residents, five councillors and five independents,
who bring specialist skills and expertise to the board.
Board Members who are Residents

Sheila Beeton
Sheila is a leaseholder and lives in Wapping.
She was chair of a steering group considering Housing Choice
and was previously Head of Human Resources for
a University. She is the chair of the Organisational
Development Committee (ODC).

Ian Fincher
Ian is a tenant living in Wapping
and working as Deputy Chief of Lighting at a West End
theatre. Ian was an active member of the Area Residents
Panel and Borough wide Compact Group and is now a member of the
Residents Involvement Panel. He is the Board champion for
Value for Money and also sits on the Finance & Audit Committee
(FAC) and Organisational Development Committee (ODC).

Shamsul Hoque
Shamsul is a tenant living in Bethnal
Green and currently Vice Chair of the Tenants and Residents
Association for Collingwood estate, secretary of Collingwood
Bangladeshi Elder Group and is a school governor for Osmani School
and Swanley Secondary School. He sits on the Performance
Management Committee (PMC).

Iain Lawson
Iain is a leaseholder living in Bethnal
Green and has been chair of a steering group considering Housing
Choice and is Chair of Collingwood Tenant and Residents
Association. Iain trained as a Civil Engineer and is currently a
mathematics teacher in a local secondary school. He is the
Board champion for Customer Access and also sits on the Performance
Management Committee
(PMC)
Shahanara Begum
Shahanara is a tenant living in Bethnal Green. As a local
resident she has a good understanding of housing issues and local
concerns. Shahanara is looking to understand housing matters
better, and transfer her work qualities into her everyday life. She
sits on the Finance & Audit Committee (FAC).

Represents
Bethnal Green South Ward, and is currently Chair of the
Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee. Cllr Islam was
formerly Deputy Leader of the Council, and was appointed to the
Tower Hamlets Homes Board in March 2010.

Councillor Denise Jones
Represents St Katharine’s and Wapping. Denise serves on the
Council's Development, Pensions, Audit and Appeals Committees and
on the Children and Adults Access to Files Panel. She is the Board
champion for Diversity and also sits on the Performance Management
Committee (PMC).

Christopher
Creegan (Chair)
Chris is Director of People and Public Affairs at the National
Centre for Social Research. He has also worked for Unison
where he was Deputy Director of Equalities and for Ealing and
Westminster councils. He has extensive experience as a board member
and chair of various national and local organisations and was a
councillor in Tower Hamlets between 1998 and 2002.
As Chair, Chris works closely with the Chief
Executive, board members and senior managers to make sure that
Tower Hamlets Homes is run properly. He joined the board because he
wants to help transform services for residents.
Paul Bridge
Paul is Chief Executive of Homes for
Haringey. He previously worked for a major RSL as Director of
Community Subsidiaries and stock transfers, employing over 180
staff responsible for delivering a full housing management service
to over 8,000 properties and a development programme of £300m and a
transfer programme for another 3,000 properties.
Sukkanya Siva
Sukkanya is a Development
Manager at Circle Anglia, She has a passion for regeneration
and the continued provision of affordable housing. As a board
member, she would like to share her knowledge in social housing and
be able to influence the future of Tower Hamlets Homes. She sits on
the Organisational Development Committee (ODC).
Neil Isaac
Neil is a qualified accountant with
extensive housing finance experience. He was Director of
Resources at three star Hounslow Homes from its start up in 2002
before becoming Director of Finance and Resources at Hackney
Homes in October 2006. Neil has recently been invited to take part
in the CLG Review of the Housing Finance system. He is the
Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee (FAC).
Abdool Kara
Abdool has an MSc in Housing and is the Chief
Executive of Swale Borough Council, Sittingbourne, Kent.
Prior to this he was the Assistant Chief Executive, London
Borough of Merton, and previously worked for the Audit Commission,
Cabinet Office, Corporation of London and London Borough of Ealing.
He is the Chair of the Performance Management Committee (PMC).
