Meet your Board
Tower Hamlets Homes is run by a board of 15
members - five residents (there is currently one tenant member
vacancy), five councillors and five independents, who bring
specialist skills and expertise to the board.
Resident Board Members

Sheila Beeton
(leaseholder representative)
Is a Resident Board Member and
leaseholder representative living in
Wapping. She was chair of a steering group considering
Housing
Choice and was previously Head of Human Resources
for a
University.

Ian Fincher (tenant representative)
Ian is a Resident Board Member and is a tenant
living in Wapping and working as Deputy Chief of
Lighting at a West End theatre. Ian was an active member
of the Area Resident’s Panel and Boroughwide Compact Group and is
now a member of the Residents Involvement Panel.

Shamsul Hoque (tenant
representative)
Shamsul is a Resident Board Member and is a
tenant living in Collingwood and currently Vice Chair of the
Tenants and Residents Association for Collingwood estate,
secretary of Collingwood Bangladeshi Elder Group and is a school
governor for Osmani School and Swanley Secondary School.

Iain Lawson (leaseholder
representative)
Iain is a Resident Board Member and leaseholder
representative - has been chair of a steering group considering
Housing Choice and is chair of Collingwood Tenant and Residents
Association. Iain trained as a Civil Engineer and is currently a
local mathematics teacher.

Councillor Board Members
Councillor Ohid Ahmed
Councillor Ahmed is one of the ward Councillors for East India
and Lansbury Ward. He is a member of the Council's Cabinet
as Lead Member for Regeneration, Localisation and Community
Partnerships. In addition he is a Member of the Creating and
Sharing Prosperity CPAG and the Partnership Management Group. He is
also the Council representative on the City Fringe Partnership
Board, LGA Urban Commission, Limehouse Youth Club Management
Committee, London Councils' Economic Development Forum, London
Thames Gateway Development Corporation and Thames Gateway London
Partnership Board and a Board Member of Tower Hamlets Sports
Council.
Councillor Fazlul
Haque
Represents Weaver's Ward and was recently
elected as Councillor. He sits on the Council's Development,
Licensing and Human Resources Committees. He has professional
expertise in Youth Services and was Secretary of the Chicksand
Estate Tenants and Residents Association.

Councillor Shafiqul Haque
Represents St Katharine’s and Wapping Ward and
is Chair of the Council’s Development and Strategic Development
Committees.
Councillor Alex Heslop
Represents Bow East and is on the Council’s
Development Committee, Standards Committee and Licensing Committee.
Alex currently works for Hackney Homes as a Tenant Management
Organisation Officer.

Councillor Denise Jones
Represents St Katharine’s and Wapping. She has recently been on
East End Homes Shadow Board. Denise serves on the Council's
Development, Pensions, Audit and Appeals Committees and on the
Children and Adults Access to Files Panel.

Independent Board Members
Christopher Creegan (Chair)
Christopher is an Independent Board Member. He has
worked in social research for eight years and is currently Deputy
Director of Qualitative Research at the National Centre for Social
Research. Previously he worked for Unison where he was Deputy
Director of Equalities, and in local government for the London
Borough of Ealing and Westminster City Council. He has extensive
experience as a board member of various national and local
organisations and served as an elected councillor in Tower Hamlets
between 1998 and 2002.

Paul Bridge
Paul is an Independent Board
Member – and is Chief Executive of Homes for Haringey. He
previously worked for a major RSL as Director of Community
Subsidiaries and stock transfers, employing over 180 staff
responsible for delivering a full housing management service to
over 8,000 properties and a development programme of £300m and a
transfer programme for another 3,000 properties.

Naomi Goode
Naomi Goode is an Independent Board Member and is a partner in
the social housing department of Lewis Silkin. She has worked as a
lawyer in the social housing sector for 14 years. Naomi is on the
editorial board of ROOF, the magazine published by
Shelter.

Neil Isaac
Neil is an Independent Board Member and a
qualified accountant with extensive housing finance experience. He
was Director of Resources at three star Hounslow Homes from
its start up in 2002 before becoming Director of Finance and
Resources at Hackney Homes in October 2006. Neil has recently been
invited to take part in the CLG Review of the Housing Finance
system. Neil chairs our Audit, Finance and Human Resources
Committee.

Abdool Kara
Abdool is an Independent Board Member, has an MSc in
Housing, is currently Assistant Chief Executive of the London
Borough of Merton, and previously worked for the Audit Commission,
Cabinet Office, Corporation of London and London Borough of Ealing.
Abdool chairs our Performance Management Committee.
