How we can help if you do not speak or understand English 

Tower Hamlets Homes is committed to ensuring that everyone has equal access to its services. With this in mind, we are able to provide a range of interpretation and translation services, free of charge, to people who do not speak or understand English.

Tower Hamlets Homes use a translation service that can provide translation into many languages including Bengali, Somali, Arabic, Vietnamese, Cantonese, and other community languages.

If you need to use this service, please go to a ‘One Stop Shop’ where there will be staff available to help you. If no staff member can speak the same language as you, we can arrange a ‘three-way’ telephone conversation with an interpreter whilst you are there.

If you have an appointment with Tower Hamlets Homes or you need something like a letter explained, we can arrange for a face to face professional interpreter to help you.

When you go into a ‘One Stop Shop’ you will need to point to the language you need on the language identification screen in reception.

If you would like to learn or improve your English, Tower Hamlets Homes can help you access local English language courses at venues around the Borough. These are sometimes provided to you free of charge.
