How to set up an orchard
Below are a few easy steps you can take, if
you would like to see an orchard in your neighbourhood:
- Find a site (an area of under-used
grass)
- Fill in a site visit checklist with as much
information as possible (see below)
- Find a lead resident to be the main contact
for Tower Hamlets Homes (this can be yourself)
- Talk to your neighbours to see if they would
also like an orchard and to give them a chance to get involved
- Contact us on 020 7364 5015. We can help you
to see if your site is suitable, to apply for funding and to do
wider consultation to see if the majority of your neighbourhood
would also like to have an orchard.
There is some work involved in getting creating an orchard, but
it provides many amazing benefits including improving the
environment, bringing the community together and providing local
