The project was funded by the Big Lottery’s Well London Programme.
The whole project cost £4,000. (£2,000 on staff and gardeners
time and £2,000 on project materials e.g. raised beds, compost,
soil and tools). The residents have set up their own gardening club
and a community gardener from Lansbury Gardeners teaches gardening
to the local residents every Thursday. Residents have already
started growing tomatoes and strawberries and other fruit and
