Refund of rent credit
From time to time your rent account may be in credit, perhaps
because you have been paying a ‘rounded up’ or wrong
amount. When this happens you can:
- leave the credit on your account as a
‘cushion’
- pay slightly less for a while until the account is
balanced
- request a rent refund
Requesting a rent refund
We write to you every year if you are in credit. You
can request a rent refund any time. Just complete a rent
refund application and return to the rent accounting team.

How you will be paid
We will refund you by cheque. If you owe any money,
for example, for court costs, housing benefit overpayment,
re-chargeable repairs, or any other debt, we will deduct this from
the amount.
You can expect us to process your rent
refund application within 5 working days of receiving all
supporting documents.
