What to do if there is a fire outside your property
If there is a fire within the communal areas
of your block stay within your property unless directed otherwise
by the Emergency Services as residential flats are built to be
fireproof.
Call 999
Use a mobile phone or landline phone. Give them your full address
including the number of your flat and post code. Tell them that
there is a fire, what floor the fire is on and await the Fire
Brigade’s arrival.
Stay within your flat
The emergency services will arrive and fight
the fire. If deemed necessary they will direct and supervise you
and your family if the block needs to be evacuated.
