Safe and Secure Scheme
The ‘Safe and Secure’ scheme is a FREE
support service that we provide to
residents who would like us to be in more regular contact with them
to check up on their well being.
The ‘Safe and Secure’ scheme offers regular
contact between a resident and Tower Hamlets Homes. Residents can
choose how often they would like Tower Hamlets Homes to contact
them. The scheme allows Tower Hamlets Homes to check the well being
of residents with the scheme. Contact is normally made by telephone
although special arrangements can be made to call at your
home.
Who can benefit from the scheme?
- Vulnerable people living alone or living with another
vulnerable person
- People at risk of domestic abuse or violence
- People who are housebound or people who rarely leave
their home
- People who have limited or no social interaction
- People who have recently been discharged from hospital
How does the scheme work?
Your Neighbourhood Housing Officer will help
you complete the Safe and Secure registration form. You decide on
the frequency of contact with Tower Hamlets Homes. This will be
weekly, six-weekly or every 12 weeks. You will also decide on what
action you want us to take if we are unable to establish contact
with you. This can range from Tower Hamlets Homes contacting an
emergency number given by you or contacting the emergency
services.
If you are interested in joining the safe and
secure scheme, get in touch with
us. Your Neighbourhood Housing Officer will arrange a
time that is good to visit you and go through the scheme. And
while you are doing this it may be worth taking part in our
‘Getting to Know
You’ discussion.
