Before the works start
Home Survey
Before the works start your contractor
will carry out a survey of your home to find out exactly what
work is needed. At the visit, the following people will be
present:
- Kitchen Designer - to discuss the design and
layout of your kitchen.
- Contractor’s Electrical and Mechanical
Surveyor - to look at rewiring your kitchen and bathroom
and to see if other rooms in your home need re-wiring. They will
also see if you need a new boiler.
- Contractor’s Resident Liaison Officer – they
will discuss the kitchen and bathroom choices available to you and
any questions you might have about the proposed kitchen design.
Where possible, they will make sure that they address your
individual needs while the work is taking place, and that they have
answered all your questions and concerns.
Your contractor will check if there are
any materials which may be disturbed during the work that might be
hazardous (such as asbestos). If they do find any asbestos it will
be removed safely before any work begins.
