How you helped develop our local service centres

What you said
Consultation with our residents, showed that when you visit
an office, you want to be able to use a wide range of
services, not just housing and you want them to be easy to get to.
You also said you would like to see more community development work
carried out locally.
What we did
To make sure that our services continue to meet residents’ changing
needs, four new local service centres were set up in
April 2008.
Our local service centres are in walking
distance for most people and close to public transport services for
others and we'll continue to visit you at home when needed. You can
still to speak to your Housing Officer either by phoning them or by
arranging an appointment to see them in your Local Service Centre
or at home if needed.
Our new arrangements mean that:
- housing staff can spend more time on estates,
rather than having to staff receptions in offices.
- each Local Service Centre has a community
development worker to help achieve our aim to build
thriving communities and make our estates better and safer places
to live.
- you can access a wide range of Tower Hamlets Homes and council
services, including benefits advice at the same time as dealing
with any housing issues- all in one convenient place
find out more about getting involved and
having a say on how services are improved.
