This advisory service provides advice focused on the needs of Chinese and Vietnamese people in Tower Hamlets. It provides advice in the areas of welfare benefits, housing, consumer matters, health, employment, education, community care and others. Interpreting and translation also make up a major part of advisory work.

Drop-in sessions: Monday 1pm to 4.30 pm, Tuesday and Friday 9.30 am to 12 noon, Saturday 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.  Wheelchair Accessible (for advice session, no wheelchair accessible toilets facilities).

Provides advocacy service to disabled people aged between 18 and 60.  Advice and support is provided to individuals to deal with welfare benefits such as Disability Living Allowance, Income Support, Freedom Passes. The service supports individuals to assert their rights and gain access to services such as taking up their cases with doctors, social workers and other service providers.

Housing Link team provides services to people who face difficulties dealing with their housing because of mental health problems. Types of help provided include dealing with rent arrears, housing benefit, budgeting, linking people to support services.

This is a joint service of Tower Hamlets Social Services and the East London and City Mental Health Trust.

The Tenancy Support team provides housing related support to vulnerable tenants, to help them retain their tenancy. This service is available to council and RSL tenants and  their households and to private rented sector tenants.

Tenants suffering from ill health, mental health problems, domestic violence, mobility, drugs and alcohol related problems can ask for assistance from members of this team. The types of support provided include helping with housing benefit claims, rent arrears, debts, dealing with neighbour disputes, settling into new homes.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday  9am to 5pm. Initial contacts by telephone, or referral forms available through the Tower Hamlets website.

General legal advice is provided on a range of matters. Most help will be in the form of making representation on behalf of users. Where specialist advice is required on matters such as Immigration, Asylum, and Criminal Law, clients will be directed to relevant specialist agencies dealing these matters.

Main contact is via telephone. Drop in sessions allow residents to attend the office without appointment.

MIND provide services to individuals and families affected by mental health problems. They also campaign on issues concerning mental health. Drop-in services are provided, where people come to meet other people , relax, chat, make friends. Café provides cheap meals. Outreach services to various community groups are also provided. Therapeutic services provided include, music, art, individual, group therapy. African Caribbean, Somali, Bengali cultural groups operate from this centre.
