This advisory service provides advice focused on the needs of
Chinese and Vietnamese people in Tower Hamlets. It provides advice
in the areas of welfare benefits, housing, consumer matters,
health, employment, education, community care and others.
Interpreting and translation also make up a major part of advisory
work.

60. Advice and support is provided to individuals to deal

Housing Link team provides services to people who face
difficulties dealing with their housing because of mental health

The Tenancy Support team provides housing related support to
vulnerable tenants, to help them retain their tenancy. This service
is available to council and RSL tenants and their households
and to private rented sector tenants.
Tenants suffering from ill health, mental health problems,
domestic violence, mobility, drugs and alcohol related problems can
ask for assistance from members of this team. The types of support
provided include helping with housing benefit claims, rent arrears,
debts, dealing with neighbour disputes, settling into new
homes.

mental health problems. They also campaign on issues concerning
mental health. Drop-in services are provided, where people come to
meet other people , relax, chat, make friends. Café provides cheap
meals. Outreach services to various community groups are also
provided. Therapeutic services provided include, music, art,
individual, group therapy. African Caribbean, Somali, Bengali
cultural groups operate from this centre.
