Local resident honoured at Civic Awards

THH resident Margaret Cox was handed a Civic Award by the Speaker of Tower Hamlets Council, Councillor Ayas Miah, at a ceremony on 3 May. Margaret has worked tirelessly for her community in St Peters for over 30 years and collaboratively with THH for over a decade.Civic Award

As well as holding the position of Chair of Teesdale & Hollybush TRA, Margaret has created Urban Growing areas, family play areas, an over 50s social group and countless other initiatives for local people.

Community partnerships officer Rizia Ali of THH said:

“This award is much deserved and Margaret really is a community champion; she has worked tirelessly to make her local neighbourhood a better place to live and I can’t think of a more worthy recipient for this award.”
