Advice for owners of Whirlpool tumble dryers

Posted on Thursday 13th June 2019

The safety of our residents is our highest priority  and we are reminding residents who have a Whirlpool tumble dryer that it should not be used.

Residents are likely to have seen reports in the media that the government has ordered a recall of up to 500, 000 Whirlpool tumble dryers following fire safety concerns.

A large number of the tumble dryers have been modified by the company since the issue was first known.  For owners of the tumble dryers which have not been modified the advice is to unplug it and do not use it until the modification has been completed.

Whirlpool tumble dryer owners are asked to contact Whirlpool as soon as possible on 0800 151 0905.

We would also like to remind residents that keeping electrical goods such as washing machines, tumble driers and fridge freezers on balconies and in communal areas is not allowed and extremely hazardous.  We will  take action against those who put other people in danger.

For more information about keeping you, your home and your neighbours safe see these pages on our website.
