LGBT history month

Posted on Thursday 12th February 2015

"February is LGBT History Month. At THH, it’s a time to reflect on how far we’ve come, where we are now and what is left to do to make the workplace more inclusive and protect LGBT people’s rights.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people have experienced huge inequality over the last sixty years just for being who they are. Persistent efforts by groups, activists and individuals have worked to achieve change.

At THH, we are proud of this change. We want to raise awareness about matters affecting the LGBT community. That is why we are celebrating a month of historic moments in LGBT history.

THH continues to tackle bullying and harassment in the workplace and promote counselling support and confidential advice to staff for lesbian, gay and bisexual issues at work.

THH is doing lots of work to combat challenges faced by LGBT residents and staff in the workplace and wider community and we look forward to doing more to build on this.

The fight for equality is not yet over. Being recognised by Stonewall as 2nd best employer in the country for LGBT people is a great achievement but also strong foundation to serve our LGBT residents and staff even better in the future."
