STAR in the community Awards 2014

A THH resident who tackled anti-social behaviour and another who revived a neglected community centre were honoured at the STAR in the Community Awards on Tuesday (November 18).

Sanita Kamara-Charles was named Inspirational Resident for her work tackling anti-social behaviour and for spearheading the ‘Know Your Neighbour’ community safety campaign.

Janet  Burns received the Bringing People Together Awardfor her work on the Cranbrook Estate Community Centre.Her efforts have seen many and varied groups start using the centre regularly.

Other STAR award winners have set up trailblazing community projects, supported vulnerable residents, cultivated wastelands for public use, run street-dance classes for children, grown and shared vegetables or been stalwart community leaders and enablers.
