Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) gives people a general right of access to information held by public authorities and companies wholly owned by public authorities.

The Act gives the public access to most structured information held by Tower Hamlets Homes. This includes reports, documents, emails, maps, audio  and visual recordings, unless Tower Hamlets Homes deems the information to be exempt in which case a legal exemption will apply.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 is regulated by the Information Commissioner  who is the Independent Authority responsible for ensuring compliance with the Act.

Under the Act all Public Authorities including Tower Hamlets Homes needs to adopt a Publication Scheme
